Mares Ultra ADJ 82X Regulator
The Mares Ultra ADJ 82X Regulator is a high performance balanced regulator featuring the new 82X diaphragm first stage and pneumatically balanced Ultra ADJ second stage with Twin Power flow control and inhalation adjustment. If you want the performance of the flagship Epic ADJ 82X but with a lighter second stage then this is perfect for you.
The 82X features two technologies that are new to Mares regulators, a swivelling low pressure turret and a first stage inlet sealing system (AST – Auto Sealing Technology). Mares has always favoured fixed position low pressure ports but the 82X bucks that trend by including a swivelling turret that has four ports around the circumference and one of the end. Two high pressure ports are fitted to the main body.
The 82X also has a pressure activated sealing technology that helps to prevent water and other contaminants from getting into the first stage when it is off your cylinder. A spring is held in place to close the valve when the system is depressurised but forced open by the flow of air from the cylinder when in use. A simple but effective design that is useful when cleaning.
The Ultra ADJ is another new second stage design that features Mares Twin Power flow rate technology as well as diver adjustable inhalation control. The twin Power feature allows the diver to switch between the normal flow rate and a “+” mode that increases the flow rate by simply rotating the hose protector on the second stage inlet. The inhalation control adjusts the effort required to begin opening the valve, increasing the resistance will make if harder to open the valve.
The Ultra ADJ incorporates the Mares bypass tube which delivers air directly to the mouthpiece but also assists in valve responsiveness by creating a vortex behind the diaphragm, drawing it in to rapidly open the valve for optimal air delivery.
